Hello Penang !

I'm not going to speak about the reason  of  visit to Penang. This is my first road trip. It was almost 9.30 am , we started from home. Okay, this is really serious, I didnt know the way, errr............I just took a lucky guess to drive up to Damansara, North South Highway. Yup, I'm right!

Bee's my support , can you believe this, illegal driving on Malaysian freeways by my California driver's license holder - husband! Hello !!!!! We're talking about a law graduate's husband who is breaking the laws! Well..........I studied law to break the law anyway!!! Stop screaming now :)

Reached Penang almot 1.30 pm and ooops............which hotel are we going to locate now!? With all the phone drama's , driving up hill made me like I'm gonna throw up anytime and losing my way, driving up Penang bridge twice........................FINALLY , I made it ON TIME , sharp 3pm , stopped in front of the hotel.

Penang's Little India.
Further drama shows at Pinang Mas apt, we're just relieved that we came to know the REAL history.
Ugghhh.........we decided to start back home, it was almost 5 pm we're on Batu Ferringhi road, searching up for any good Indian restaurant.

With my crazy yet smart driving skills, I managed reaching Little India and we're set for the lundinner at Ananda Bhavan.

Chalo! It's time to start back to KL. All sorts of songs and drama's inside car and Bee drove again for an hour. He's just all excited to do illegal driving here!  I guess I reached Rawang toll and the moment of  reunion happened.

Now, I reached Sungai Buloh toll and had to drop off  Shekar mama at Mutiara Damansara. It was 11pm then! We then reached Brickfields via Bangsar and straight to Sampoorna's.

11.45 am and we're home. Sigh !

Energized 2013.

I'm just full of  energy today though physically tired. Okay........it's time , to stay focused on what I want to complete this year. This quarter itself!

Without thinking much, just drove up to Nilai. Yes, I have to do this one up asap. I'm not going to wait Bee to be here cos we end up losing days trying to do simple things. I cant believe I actually drove up till MPN and thank goodness for the remisi form !

Pakcik's not around and I have to start running around for these basic things. Anyway, I managed escaping the high traffic on the North-South Highway.

Though it's only Wednesday today, this weekend is going to be THE weekend for all KL-ites.

Maulidur Rasul tomorrow, followed by the Thaipusam weekend and public holidays. Oh....boy! I love Malaysia for the food, festivals and public holidays!!! How I miss my working days back then :) Just looking forward breaks!

Salam Maulidur Rasul to all my muslim friends/readers.

Happy Thaipusam to all my hindu friends/readers. I truly miss walking with the chariot procession from Maha Mariamman temple to Batu Caves. Those were the days.......the real good'ol days , I was only 16.....my friends and I decided to volunteer at Hindu Sangam and ISKCON. Whole night I kept awake and slept for the next full day! The fun we had.......I have tears in my eyes when I look back!

May Lord Subrahmanya fulfill our prayers and faith in him. I am really moved that this year I am blessed to see Batu Caves Subrahmanya. I miss Bee now. We are planning to jump in once the crowd is out of  sight.

Happy holidays to all of  you. xo

Naya Abhinaya Workshop

It's such a blessing to meet the famous Pandhanallur guru Smt.Indira Rajan in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. An amazing experience, dance is like an ocean, the more we learn , we feel so little as there's a lot to be explored. Truly an eye opening night at the Global Indian School, Brickfields.

We had lots of  fun with one to one talk and there's really so much for me to learn. I have no idea how I can accomplish this but definitely will try!

Batu Caves !!!!

Batu Caves revisited after a decade. It was an amazing experience to see how things have changed over the last 10 years. I remembered how we used to keep awake and walk along the chariot procession and the pain of the heat in February. The new temples and the golden Murugan statue is a total brilliant idea on enhancing the beauty of the caves and the divine temple.

We had a great walking trip as the KTM komuter costed only RM1 to go to Batu Caves from KL Sentral and another RM2 to return back home. Bee was amazed looking at the trains in Malaysia and the super clean seats. Of course , I enjoyed my McD's sundae cup on our way to the temple.

We first saw the Hanuman statue. Figured this way that way out to get photographed :P , the Venkatachalapathi temple was BEAUTIFULLY built and the weather was just kind enough to let us walk around without disturbances.

Seeing Murugan on tophill is no easy task as we had to climb the stairs and encounter little monkeys who were super human friendly. We minute I completed the stairs on tophill , I was speechless to see Murugan again. It was my dream of 5 years to show Bee the magical temple.

We had good darshan and kind blessings from the priest. We returned back home by 10pm. Zzzz....totally got strained but the happiness - PRICELESS!

Tahoe revisited !

It was a great experience visiting the Napa and we thought it would be good to chill down over the snows. Totally a last minute plan , we decided to revisit Lake Tahoe again for this snowy season. Overall it was an average trip due to the extreme cold , and I ended up getting frostnip on my fingers as a result of playing with the snow on the top mountain. Tahoe is a beauty , for the first time I saw the frozen lake , cant believe my eyes that I actually dipped myself in that lake during the summer ! Extra ordinary creamy snow , rather it was scarry to drive !

Santa Barbara & Universal Studios - LA

Still on summer mode where I literally walked with Sun , nevertheless the fun we had........ treasured memories ! We started driving from Bay Area......packed with lots of snacks and music , it took us about 6 hours to reach Santa Barbara , the City of Celebrities.

Santa Barbara -  situated on an east-west trending section of coastline, the longest such section on the west coast, between the steeply-rising Santa Ynez Mountains and the sea, and having a Mediterranean climate, it is called California's "South Coast", and is also sometimes referred to casually as the "American Riviera."

We stopped in Carpinteria and put up for 3 days at a friend's apartment. Magnificent beauty of mother nature , sea breeze and fun...

Day 1 spent fully at Getty Park, LA. The beautiful arts and crafts of  Renaissance Era and French Revolution was  breathtaking ! It felt that I'm gone back to time , a total 1800's effect ! That evening we've decided just to laze and sit at the Getty Park , beautiful view of the Rose garden and resting lounge.

Day 2 , though our legs were paining due to our non stop walks in Getty Park , we still managed walking all the way out in the Universal Studios. We went on the Mummy ride , Jurassic Park and Waterworld. It was an awesome day for us.

Day 3 , due to all the tiredness , we went to the beach and walked around the downtown.

Slept like anything and drove back to Bay Area the next day.

Summer Romance - Monterey Beach , California.

Too hot to take the sun & the heat , we went to Monterey Beach to dip in the wild Pacific ocean. Extra ordinary wild waves , caught me in trouble....only someone special knows what happened :D  However , I must admit that it was a beautiful , simple , romantic outing we enjoyed all together !

Lake Tahoe , California

So excited over the long weekend and we decided to soak in fresh air and breathtaking scenery at Lake Tahoe. Lake Tahoe is a large freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada mountains of the United States. It is located along the border between California and Nevada, west of Carson City, Nevada. Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America. Its depth is 1,645 ft making it America's second-deepest !

The lake was formed about 2 million years ago and is a part of the Lake Tahoe Basin with the modern lake being shaped during the Ice Ages. It is known for the clarity of its water and the panorama of surrounding mountains on all sides. The area surrounding the lake is also referred to as Lake Tahoe, or simply Tahoe.

Lake Tahoe is a major tourist attraction for both California and Nevada. It is home to a number of ski resorts, summer outdoor recreation, and tourist attractions. Snow and skiing are a significant part of the area's economy and reputation. Mountain and lake scenery are attractions throughout the year !

We had a blast !
